RICOH Enhanced Locked Print NX FlexRelease Server (ELP-NX FS) is a enterprise software solution that allows users to send print jobs to a central network server and securely release them from any connected Ricoh Multi-Function Device (MFD). Prerequisites for Configuration

Before setting up the FlexRelease Server, ensure your infrastructure meets these software requirements:

Server Component: The server must run a compatible operating system such as Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or 2022 (64-bit).

Database: A local or external instance of Microsoft SQL Server (Express or Standard) must be installed.

MFP Application: The ELP-NX embedded application and the Card Authentication Package (CAP) must be installed directly on the Ricoh MFDs.

Server Authentication: The CAP Enterprise Server (CAP-ES) must be configured on the server to manage user badge or PIN logins. Step 1: Server-Side Installation & Setup

Install Prerequisites: Run the installer tool on your server, ensuring .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or later is enabled.

Run ELP-NX FS Installer: Execute the installation file downloaded from the Ricoh Support Portal. Provide your purchased corporate Product Key when prompted.

Database Connection: Map the application to your Microsoft SQL database instance.

Enable Encryption: Access the administrator web page for ELP-NX FRS. Navigate to the security menu and toggle SSL/TLS to “On” to encrypt print jobs while they are cached on the server. Step 2: Configure the Ricoh MFDs

To connect your physical printers to the FlexRelease backend, use Web Image Monitor (WIM):

Enter the Ricoh printer’s IP address into a web browser to open Web Image Monitor. Log in as the Network Administrator.

Navigate to Device Management > Configuration > Extended Feature Settings.

Select the ELP-NX application settings and switch the operation mode from “Serverless” to Server Mode.

Enter the Server IP Address / Hostname and port number of your newly configured FlexRelease Server. Step 3: Configure Print Drivers for End Users

To routing jobs properly, administrators must adjust the print driver layout deployment: Card Authentication Package | Support & Downloads | Ricoh
